In my wildest dreams, I never thought that the country that has exported most of the processed foods culture to the rest of the world, would take a U-turn. Let alone that U-turn movement would carry my name MAHA.
In case you were not following recent news, the Make America Healthy Again (MAHA) movement is a health and wellness initiative led by Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who currently serves as the U.S. Secretary of Health and Human Services. MAHA aims to reform public health policies, promote environmental sustainability, and enhance government accountability.
Key Objectives of the MAHA Movement
MAHA seeks to address the rising prevalence of chronic diseases by advocating for healthier lifestyles and scrutinizing factors contributing to health decline, such as processed foods and environmental toxins.Public Health Reform. (I never thought I’d live the day) This has coincided with me completing my MSc in International Public Health.
Environmental Sustainability. The movement emphasizes the importance of environmental responsibility, linking ecological health to public well-being. (keep breathing)
MAHA advocates for increased transparency and reduced corporate influence within government health agencies, aiming to restore public trust. Government Accountability (the power of manifestation)
Support and Criticism
MAHA has garnered support from various groups, including health-conscious individuals and wellness influencers who resonate with its holistic approach to health. However, the movement has faced criticism for promoting unproven health claims and fostering distrust in established medical practices. (no one would die young if medical practices were always right, fact is medical negligence is the third biggest killer world wide)
As MAHA continues to influence U.S. health policies, it remains a subject of significant public discourse, reflecting broader debates about health, science, and governance in America, and we now know when America sneezes, the rest of the world catches a cold, in this case, staying positive, I pray for a world where my Grandchildren, will have a better health outcome, a cleaner environment than we do.
