Home Made Healthy Dips.

My girlfriends are coming over tonight for a girly night, so have prepared some dips and crudite, in my attempt to convert some of them to healthy eating, I really want to convey the message here that, eating healthy doesn’t have to be boring or tasteless,, and indeed we do not need to starve to lose weight and feel healthy and happy. Out goes the calorie counting, anyone I know who embarked on a calorie counting diet, ended up putting twice as much weight as they’ve lost, I want to reiterate that being over or under weight cannot be good for a healthy body, so instead of dieting just switch to clean, healthy eating.

Tonight I’ve assembled a few carefully selected nutritious dips.

  • Guacamole.. Avocados, lime, red onions & cilantro. ‘heavenly’
  • Beetroot Humous, I use raw organic beetroot as cooked beetroot have a high GI, ‘not that I’m a fan of the GI following’, but in this case, it can be too high.
  • Roasted red peppers.
  • Organic olives.
  • Nuts.
  • Tahini.
  • Crudite include celery, carrots in 3 colours, peppers, & cucumbers.

Please don’t be tempted to serve alcohol, as it will completely ruin all your good work, alcohol will deplete your body of all the good nutrients in these lovely selections.

Most of tonights dips menu has Phytoestrogens, amazing for girls of our lovely age + equal amounts of sodium/potassium for that balance I discussed in an earlier blog.

Gotta go, as the girls are at the door..let the fun begin 🙂 xx
