7 Top CrossBody Bags For This Season.

I have a confession to make…..I was one of those ladies, who would criticise women wearing a crossbody bags, well guess what…Years later, and I’m a convert myself, not only they are convenient and light to carry on the shoulders, but as If you’re like moi who travels a lot, its very assuring to have your passport right on your hip, where you have no chance of losing it, or fiddle around the airport searching for it amongst your luggage.

The trick though is to find the right stylish crossbody, that you can wear elegantly and not fall into the trap of a cheap ugly one that ages you.

Here’s my top choice for this season, I’ve already acquired the Victoria Beckham one and will be slowly working my way through the list,,,lol…..I say ‘Bags are a girls best firmed’ not diamonds… 🙂

You can click here to find all these bags and more at Matchesfashion.com or Netaporter.com

  1. At number one, the ultimate in style, the classic Celine crossbody, this has been one of their staples for years and never goes out of fashion, so a great investment, with 3 compartments, there’s ample space for your phone, wallet and passport.

Keto. Lamb & Veggie Dinner.

Wondering what a typical Ketogenic meal would look like, then look no further than this yummy recipe!!

Lamb has been and always will be my preferred meat, contrary to common beleive, its not as fatty as beef, not only its enzymes are easier to digest, but unlike beef, lamb breeders do not tend to give the short lived kettle antibiotics, also the majority of lamb is grass fed.

You basically eat what the animal eats, so if that animal has been heavily fed on grains, which is the case with most cows, then you are getting the highly inflammatory omega 6, from the grains the cow has been fed, the same thing with antibiotics. You maybe trying to not consume antibiotics but then if your cow has had it then you are likely to get it through its meat.

Another myth is as we age we shouldn’t eat meat, when actually as we age we need more protein to maintain muscle mass, lamb is not only an excellent source of protein, but of Omega 3 too. being an acidic food, its advisable to serve it with plenty of alkalising vegetables.

I won’t go into details about a Ketogenic diet here, but this dish is a typical of how a Keto. meal would be like. This recipe is for 2, you can always multiply appropriatley.

Ingredients:

For the Lamb Pesto/marinade.

  1. A bunch of cilantro, ‘corriander’
  2. A bunch of fresh mint
  3. A bunch of oregano and or fresh thyme
  4. A sprig of rosemary
  5. 2 tbs olive oil
  6. 3 cloves of garlic
  7. A glass of water
  8. 1 tsp salt
  9. A pinch of real Cinnamon
  10. Finally 6 lamb chops or loins.

In a blender mix together all the herbs, water, oil and garlic, then marinate the lamb in the fridge for an hour or over night, so the herbs are well infused. cook in a low heat oven for 35 minutes or so, once cooked add black peppers.

Serve with seasonal steamed Vegetables, I often like to add a form of fat to my vegetables for maximum nutrient absorption by the body, in this dish, the lamb fat will serve that job. Here I serve it with shredded cabbage, broccoli, carrots, sweet potato and black cabbage. This meal has most of the macro and micro nutrient you need for the day..

Are You Zinc Deficient? Find Out.

Do you Suffer with constant bouts of cold/Flu, thinning hair, memory loss, acne or allergies? You may be Zinc deficient.

Zinc is an essential trace mineral, it’s second to only iron in its concentration in the body, so ensuring you have sufficient amounts of zinc is key to your overall health and immune system. It promotes bone density and protect against oxidative stress, its necessary for normal cognitive function. Zinc has also been shown to accelerate wound healing, aid in sleep, and improve sense of sight, smell, and taste. Unfortunately, zinc deficiency is very common, due to inadequate dietary intake and mostly decreased absorption. Zinc levels are not frequently tested, and even when they are, existing tests are inaccurate. Approximately 90% of the body’s zinc is found in muscles and bone tissues. As a result, blood tests do not adequately measure a zinc deficiency.

There’s a liquid test you can buy from your health store or Amazon here, to test your levels.

Alcohol consumption, diabetes, intestinal disorders and a strict vegetarian diet are risk factors for zinc deficiencies. If you have low stomach acid due to infections such as H Pylori, age or PPI medications, then you will not absorb Zinc efficiently.

It is nearly impossible to consume too much zinc through diet alone. The current recommended daily allowance (RDA) for zinc is 11 mg for adult males and 8 mg for adult females.9 Pregnant and lactating women have higher requirements. These RDAs are suggested for maintaining adequate zinc levels. However, if you are already deficient, it is recommended that you consume up to 25 mg of zinc each day.

Top Zinc Rich Foods.

There’s no 2 ways about it, meat is a rich source of zinc, however it is also an acidifying food that should be consumed in moderation, since we are concerned with bone health here, then below is a guide for the top 10 rich Zinc foods categorised according to their acidity and alkalinity for you to choose from.

1- Pumpkin seeds  ‘Alkalising’

2- Chickpeas ‘Acidifing’

3- Almonds ‘Alkalising’

4- Garlic ‘Alkalising

5- Tahini ‘Acidifing’

6- Broccoli ‘Alkalising

7- Oysters ‘Acidifying’

8- Sesame seeds ‘Alkalising’

9- Meats, turkey, lamb, beef, all ‘Acidifying’

10- Spinach ‘Alkalising’

As diverse and important of an element that zinc is, it is only one component of the entire health picture. Be cautious not to disrupt your zinc/copper ratio.

My Top Golden Globes 2018 Dresses!

2018 Golden Globe’s theme was Black wear, for both men and women, apparently in solidarity with the initiative Time’s UP supporting women who are bringing forward sexual harassment complaints.

You could have envisaged a somber, funeral like atmosphere, instead the result was one of the most elegant, genuinely chic red carpets in Hollywood.

Here’s my top choices for the night’s fashion.

At Number one hands down… Alicia Vikander who dazzled elegantly in Louis Vuitton, not only was she classy as ever, but also true to her fashion style, she didn’t trash the black look, instead she wore a sombre dress that fitted exquisitely with the globes message for this year. Her hair style and minimalist earrings were a perfect choice too.

My second Choice is Jessica Beil, who alongside her man, stood tall in an Haute Couture, tulle and velvet Dior, princess style dress..She accessorised it with a stunning diamond bracelet. Bravo I say, very fitting and smart fabric choice, velvet is so in this season.

At number three, Halle Berry, was on fire with this see-through, all Lace Zuhair Murad from his spring/summer 2018 collection . She’s never looked more sexy and young, only her can pull a dress like that, without fearing criticism, as she’s got the figure and the confidence for it. Love, Love, Love.

And finally, for me anyhow…Cathrine Zeta Jones, makes a come back with another Zuhair Murad dress, gorgeous gorgeous…She certainly wasn’t afraid to take the plunge, and why not, if you’ve got it flaunt it..Old Hollywood glamour I say.
